Well, Honk!'s over, which is kinda sad for me. Alex, the sound tech we got in specially for Honk!, left to go back home.He was great fun, and had some amusing, but handy advice

. Tom, some of one of the teachers at school, spent the past week gaffa taping
every single wire he saw to the wall, floor, another wire, etc. To give you an idea of what the band area looked like;
Say you have two wires. They start off running together, but one ends up taking a detour around, say, a mic stand, but then eventually joins up with the other wire. Got that pictured in your head?
Now, would you a) move the "detour wire" so it stayed with the other wire and tape them both together, or b) tape each wire individually, creating a mess and wasting tape at the same time?
Tom chose option b.
I spent Wednesday morning helping to pack away all the equipment and clear the stage. When I walked in the first thing I saw, on the front row of seats, was a huge roll of gaffa tape.
It was all the gaffa tape Tom used for Honk!. I think it was about 30cm in diameter (12 inches).
The whole thing was kinda amusing though. Honk! is basically a musical version of the story of the Ugly Duckling. So it's songs are damned catchy, and after a week or so of four hour rehearsals, the songs get stuck in your head. Like the time some of the stage crew and I went to get fish and chips, and started singing some of the Honk! songs whilst we waited for out food.
It was embarassing, but oh so much fun

We had to confiscate a large screw-driver from Dave, the technician employed by the school, as he was getting rather perplexed with Tom. I believe the words "stab" "repeatedly" and "until I can no longer move my arm" were mentioned....

So what does the summer hold for me? Well i'm filling out an application form to work at Twinlakes. It's a kind of (stress on kind of) theme park nearby. So I might get paid work. Woo! But I might have to deal with small children, and i'm not very good with kids
